Samaritan Health Services will host drive-thru flu vaccination clinics Oct. 7 in Corvallis, Albany, Lebanon, Newport and Lincoln City.
The drive-thru flu shot site closest to Philomath will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on that Saturday in Corvallis at the Belvue Warehouse parking lot, located at 255 NE Belvue St.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older receive a flu vaccination. People categorized as higher risk are especially urged to consider a flu shot. This includes those who work in health care, have a chronic health condition or are over age 65.
The regular flu vaccine will be available for ages 6 months and older and a high-dose flu vaccine will be available for ages 65 and older. No appointment is needed.
In addition to the Corvallis clinic, the others planned for Oct. 7 include Samaritan Medical Clinics in Albany (400 Hickory St. NW, 8 a.m.-noon), Samaritan Urgent Care parking lot in Lebanon (35 Mullins Drive, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.), Samaritan Lincoln City Medical Center (3011 NE 28th St., 9 a.m.-1 p.m.) and Samaritan Center for Health Education in Newport (740 SW Ninth St., 9 a.m.-1 p.m.).
Individuals with a Samaritan medical record are eligible to get the flu vaccine at one of the drive-thru events. For those who cannot make it to the clinic or not a Samaritan patient, they are asked to contact their primary care provider or visit a Samaritan Pharmacy location in Albany, Corvallis or Lebanon.
