A Benton County child advocacy organization is among 12 nonprofits receiving a share of $200,000 in Social Accountability grants awarded by Samaritan Health Services to improve community health across Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties.
ABC House, a children’s advocacy center that serves Benton and Linn counties, received $25,000 to provide partial salary support for a forensic medical provider supporting child abuse services.
The grants support programs addressing priority areas identified in the Regional Community Health Improvement Plan, including affordable housing, access to healthcare, behavioral and mental health services, and equity and inclusion.
“We recognize that an individual’s health needs are greatly impacted by social factors, such as where they live and work,” Paulina Kaiser, Samaritan’s director of Community Health and Research, said through a press release. “Through Social Accountability funding, we hope to leverage resources and build partnerships across our region, creating a more cohesive and sustainable approach to improving quality of life for all.”
Eleven other organizations received grants — the largest being $35,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County.
Samaritan Health Services has provided Social Accountability funding since 1997.
