The Philomath Rotary Club invites the community to a program Tuesday that will provide information on ways to protect information and bank accounts from scams.

Shannon Romero, Oregon Consumer Education and Engagement coordinator, will present “Scam and Fraud Prevention” at noon Aug. 20 at Peace Lutheran Church.

The program had originally been planned for July but needed to be rescheduled.

Lunch will be provided at the event. Organizers ask those planning to attend to RSVP with Rotary’s Fred Shaub at 541-602-0279 or rotaryfred@hotmail.com for meal-planning purposes.

Romero will share information on staying safe from scam calls, emails and other methods by those attempting to steal personal information, including credit card and bank account numbers.
