Republic Services will provide curbside pickup of loose leaves on Thursday in Philomath — the fourth of five dates scheduled by the waste disposal company.
Those who want to take advantage of the service can place leaves in the street 1 foot from the curb to allow for rainwater runoff. Leaves should not block catch basins or storm drains. Residents are also asked to not place trash, limbs, branches, grass or other debris in the leaf piles.
The city of Philomath does not provide leaf pickup but residents can haul them to Public Works (1515 Willow Lane) and dispose of them for free (leaves only, no sticks, branches, bags or trash). The city said the disposal option is for residents only and not a commercial drop site.
Republic Services customers who have yard debris carts can dispose of leaves in those containers, which are picked up weekly year round.
The final curbside pickup by Republic Services is scheduled for Dec. 17.
