Strengthening Rural Families and Linn-Benton Community College’s Parenting Success Network are teaming up to offer a one-night workshop entitled, “Building a Positive Relationship with Your Teen” from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at Clemens Primary School.

The workshop will be taught by Al Krug, who will help adults understand their youth as a growing person, including developmental changes that they’re going through that may be challenging.

Organizers said the workshop is best for families with children ages 13-18.

The program will offer adults practical ways to encourage positive behavior, manage challenging behavior, promote strong adult-teen relationships, improve communication skills, reduce family stress and practice positive parenting skills.

Contact Strengthening Rural Families at jennifer.srf@ruralfamilies.org or 541-929-2535 to register and to reserve child-care space, which is offered as a free service.

The program is made available in part through funding from the Oregon Department of Human Services.
