The Philomath Public Works Committee will take a look at implementing a 30-minute parking zone adjacent to Jonah’s Market along Main Street during its meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday.
The owner of the convenience store approached the city about putting in parking limit signs after determining that employees from a nearby business are parking in those spots during the work day, which the owner says has caused a drop in business.
The Oregon Department of Transportation, which has jurisdiction over Main Street, or Highway 20/34, approved the signs to be installed. The business owner offered to pay for the signage.
Also on the agenda:
• Elect a committee chair.
• Listen to an update about ongoing issues.
• Discuss the city’s Capital Improvement Plan.
City councilors Jessica Andrade, Catherine Biscoe and Ruth Causey serve on the committee.
The city plans to hold the meeting via Zoom. The public can watch the live feed of the meeting on the city’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cityofphilomath. For those unable to view online, contact City Hall at 541-929-6148 to make viewing arrangements.
