The Benton County Circuit Court invites the public to attend the investiture of the Hon. Keri J. Smith at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Benton County Courthouse.

The event will include a swearing-in ceremony for Smith, followed by a reception.

Gov. Tina Kotek appointed Smith to the bench in late July to fill the judicial position vacated by retired Senior Judge Locke A. Williams.

Smith received her bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Idaho. She has been an attorney for 20 years. For the majority of her career, she represented clients in all types of family law matters. 

Additionally, she has experience representing clients in adult guardianships and conservatorships and criminal matters. She currently chairs the Oregon State Bar Family Law Executive Committee.  

The courthouse is located at 120 NW Fourth St., in Corvallis.
