FRIDAY, NOV. 17
• 8:37 p.m. — Police reported a call involving driving under the influence of intoxicants at North 19th Street and Main Street. No other details were immediately available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
• 10:39 p.m. — Police served a warrant in the 1900 block of Main Street. No other details were immediately available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 6:22 a.m. (Heritage Hills Drive) and the Corvallis Police Department on a call at 8:27 a.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported 16 traffic stops.
SATURDAY, NOV. 18
• 5:03 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an intoxicated driver in the 1200 block of Main Street. Police determined that the man was not intoxicated. The driver was elderly and given a ride home by his pastor.
Other calls: Police responded to a non-911 issue at 4:09 a.m. (Pioneer Street). In addition, police assisted the Corvallis Police Department on a call at 9:43 a.m. (Southwest 71st Street, Corvallis) and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 9:47 p.m. (Southwest 53rd Street and Southwest Reservoir Avenue, Corvallis). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.
SUNDAY, NOV. 19
• 2:12 p.m. — Police responded to a juvenile complaint (South 16th Street). No details were immediately available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police responses included a civil dispute at 8:12 a.m. (North 12th Street) and domestic disturbance at 12:55 p.m. (Cedar Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.
MONDAY, NOV. 20
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a parking complaint at 1:31 p.m. (College Street), city ordinance violation at 5:50 p.m. (South 18th Street) and a domestic disturbance at 7:59 p.m. (South 15th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
TUESDAY, NOV. 21
• 2:43 p.m. — Police responded to a hit-and-run situation in the 600 block of South 15th Street. No other details were immediately available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
• 7:19 p.m. — Police responded to a crash on Highway 20 near Shrike Way involving a towed vehicle that had come loose and landed in a ditch. There were no injuries reported.
Other calls: Police responses included violation of an order at 1:18 p.m. (College Street) and a city ordinance violation at 2:36 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported four traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 22
• 3:39 p.m. — Police served a warrant at North 18th Street and Main Street. No other details were immediately available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police responses included an animal complaint at 12:28 a.m. (Main Street and Clemens Mill Road), 911 hang-up call at 10:49 a.m. (Main Street), parking complaint at 1:24 p.m. (North 14th Street) and a parking complaint at 3:09 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 10:05 a.m. (Main Street). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.

SUNDAY, OCT. 29
• 7:02 a.m. — Deputies responded to a four-mile stretch of Highway 34 near Philomath for a report of multiple vandalized mailboxes. Six mailboxes and a street sign had been knocked over. The impacted property owners were informed and provided with case information. Five of the six mailboxes had estimated values of $50 and the sixth had a value of $500. The case was reported to have gone inactive because of a lack of investigative leads.
FRIDAY, NOV. 10
• 11:16 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 43-year-old Philomath man on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs) and reckless driving following a traffic stop for speeding and driving outside of his lane. The man was transported to Benton County Jail.
THURSDAY, NOV. 16
• Time NA — Deputies took a statement from a woman who reported that on Nov. 10, a male motorist followed her vehicle to Alsea and shot video of her and she in turn took photos of him. A Department of Health Services case worker advised the woman to report the incident.
• 3:10 p.m. — Deputies took a report from a 77-year-old Blodgett man who had fallen victim to an email scam in which he ultimately provided financial information over the phone and online. The man contacted his banks, canceled his cards and prevented any monetary loss.

FATAL CRASHES
FRIDAY, NOV. 17
• 3:15 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 238 about 8 miles south of Jacksonville that took the life of Seaven James Wyatt, 79, of Jacksonville. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Wyatt was driving west in a Ford Aspire when he made a left turn onto Upper Applegate Road in the path of an eastbound Toyota Tacoma driven by a 70-year-old Medford man. The side-impact collision killed Wyatt, who was declared deceased after medical transport. The driver of the Toyota reportedly suffered minor injuries.
SATURDAY, NOV. 18
• 5:12 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 26 in the northeast corner of Tillamook County about 14 miles north and west of Manning that took the lives of Rashei Edlin, 23, of Hillsboro, and Carole Ann Klages, 77, of Warrenton. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Edlin was headed west driving a Kia Optima when he crossed the center line and struck head-on a Toyota Corolla driven by Klages. A witness reported that the Kia had been traveling at high speeds and making unsafe passes prior to the crash. Both Edlin and Klages were declared deceased at the scene.
SUNDAY, NOV. 26
• 12:15 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 36 about 1 mile northwest of Mapleton that took the life of Benjamin William Beecher, 72, of Florence. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Beecher was headed west when his Ford Explorer crossed the centerline into an icy curve and struck head-on a Honda Civic driven by an 18-year-old North Bend man. The Ford became airborne and crashed fully submerged into the Siuslaw River. Lane County Search and Rescue responded with a dive team to assist. Beecher was declared deceased at the scene. The Honda’s driver and a passenger, a 21-year-old North Bend woman, were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
