DAILY REPORTS

FRIDAY, NOV. 24

• 4:16 p.m. — Police arrested a man (identification not reported in media report) in the 1400 block of Main Street on a statewide felony warrant and transported him to Linn County Jail.

Other calls: Police responses included a person screaming for help (South 30th Street), civil dispute (Applegate Street) and a non-911 issue (North 16th Lane). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 6:12 p.m. (Avondale Place). PPD reported 19 traffic stops.

SATURDAY, NOV. 25

• 12:13 p.m. — Police responded to a criminal trespass complaint involving a North 14th Street property. A report was taken and a case number assigned.

Other calls: Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 6:10 p.m. (Highway 20). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.

SUNDAY, NOV. 26

• 6:22 a.m. — Police responded to a report of harassment in the 1400 block of Main Street involving a verbal argument between an attendant and a patron. The patron reportedly trespassed and police took a report and filed a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a non-911 issue at 2:34 a.m. (Pioneer Street) and citizen contact at 5:33 a.m. (Highway 20/34). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.

MONDAY, NOV. 27

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of harassment at 7:45 a.m. (North 15th Street), trespassing at 11:53 a.m. (South 19th Street), threats made at 12:05 p.m. (South 19th Street) and a suspicious vehicle at 8:26 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

TUESDAY, NOV. 28

• 12:53 p.m. — Police responded to a crash at Main Street and North Ninth Street. No injuries were reported.

• 10:37 p.m. — Police arrested a 33-year-old Philomath man on an active warrant while responding to the 1300 block of College Street for a domestic argument.

Other calls: Police responses included a 911 hang-up call at 11:03 a.m. (Main Street), motorist assistance at 5:15 p.m. (Main Street) and a suicidal subject at 6:18 p.m. PPD reported no traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 29

• 2:20 p.m. — Police responded to a report of theft in the 1700 block of Main Street. A report was filed and a case number assigned.

• 5:04 p.m. — Police responded to a report of theft in the 1600 block of Main Street. A report was filed and a case number assigned.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of criminal mischief at 11:18 a.m. (Applegate Street), parking complaint at 4:17 p.m. (Newton Street) and a report of a car prowler at 9:09 p.m. (South 20th Street and Applegate Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

THURSDAY, NOV. 30

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included assisting an individual at 1:26 p.m. (North 17th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

FOLLOW-UP REPORTS

FRIDAY, NOV. 17

• 8:37 p.m. — Police arrested a 52-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (blood alcohol content of .12) during a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Applegate Street. The man was cited in lieu of custody and was also cited for an active warrant out of Clackamas County.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 22

• 3:39 p.m. — Police arrested a 58-year-old Philomath man at North 18th Street and Main Street on a contempt of court warrant.

MONDAY, NOV. 6

• 4:48 a.m. — Deputies responded to a crash on Highway 20 near Davis Road for a single-vehicle crash with a deer. No injuries were reported. The vehicle, a 2018 Nissan pickup, was towed from the scene.

SATURDAY, NOV. 25

• 1:41 p.m. — Deputies responded to Highway 34 location for a black lab that had been found. The dog was transported to Heartland Humane Society, Corvallis. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the dog’s owner had already called in to try to find their missing dog.

FATAL CRASHES

SATURDAY, NOV. 25

• 2:39 p.m. — Troopers responded to a crash at the intersection of Highway 99 and Elk Street in Medford that took the life of Kevin L. Norman, 69, of Central Point. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 38-year-old Medford woman driving a Hyundai Elantra turned left from Elk Street onto Highway 99 into the path of a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Norman causing a side-impact collision. Norman was declared deceased at the scene. The Hyundai’s driver and a passenger, an infant boy, were not injured.

MONDAY, NOV. 27

• 11:35 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 about 9 miles north of North Bend that claimed the life of Andrew Chase Carlson, 24, of North Bend. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Carlson lost control of the BMW he was driving because of a tire issue. The BMW slid sideways into the oncoming lane of traffic and was hit on the passenger side by a Kenworth dump truck. Carlson was declared deceased at the scene. The dump truck’s driver, a 42-year-old Coquille man, was not injured.

TUESDAY, NOV. 28

• 5:02 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 about 4 miles east of Boardman that took the life of Alexander James Pace, 36, of Hermiston. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Kia Sorrento driven by a 33-year-old Umatilla man had slowed in traffic due to a detour related to another crash and while preparing to merge into the slow lane, was hit from behind by a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 23-year-old Kennewick, Washington, man, who had failed to slow for traffic. Pace, a passenger in the Kia, was declared deceased at the scene. The Kia’s driver and another passenger, a 49-year-old man, suffered minor injuries, and a fourth passenger, a 36-year-old man, suffered critical injuries. The Dodge’s driver was assessed for an injury at the scene.
