FRIDAY, DEC. 22
• 9:08 p.m. — Police arrested a 31-year-old Corvallis man on a warrant for failure to appear during a traffic stop at College Street and North 15th Street. The man was cited in lieu of custody.
Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 12:32 p.m. (Main Street), dogs at large at 12:48 p.m. (North 13th Street and College Street), person assist at 2:23 p.m. (College Street), abandoned vehicle at 3:01 p.m. (North 18th Street) and a private property tow at 3:05 p.m. (College Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on calls at 2:25 a.m. (Gellatly Way) and 12:12 p.m. (Old Peak Road) and the Corvallis Police Department on a call at 8:25 p.m. (Southwest 53rd Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.
SATURDAY, DEC. 23
• 11:48 a.m. — Police arrested Gabrielle D. Mahoney, 44, of Philomath, on felony charges of second-degree assault and second-degree attempted assault, and misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault, menacing and strangulation, following the investigation of a disturbance at a Main Street residence.
Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious vehicle at 3:23 a.m. (South 17th Street and Applegate Street), domestic disturbance at 9:53 a.m. (South 19th Street), littering (South 12th Street) and a suspicious circumstance at 3:51 p.m. (North 16th Lane). PPD reported one traffic stop.
SUNDAY, DEC. 24
• 3:05 p.m. — Police arrested a 36-year-old Corvallis woman on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (blood alcohol content of .20 or above) at Applegate Street and South 12th Street. The same individual had been arrested earlier in the day on a misdemeanor charge of drinking in public at a Main Street location.
Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 2:20 p.m. (Main Street) and a found dog at 6:27 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.
MONDAY, DEC. 25
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 12:23 p.m. (College Street and North Seventh Street) and welfare check at 2:23 p.m. (South 13th Street). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.
TUESDAY, DEC. 26
• 9:30 p.m. — Police arrested a 68-year-old Philomath man on a warrant for failure to perform community service.
Other calls: Police responses included an animal complaint at 11:35 a.m. (North 11th Street), city ordinance violation at 3:33 p.m. (Cooper Lane) and a warning to the owner of a bike not street legal on the road at 3:55 p.m. (Grouse Place). PPD reported seven traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 27
• 11:53 a.m. — Police at the station took a report of fraud involving a check that had been written from a local business.
• 3:24 p.m. — Police responded to a crash at Applegate Street and South 13th Street. No injuries were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a dispute report at 1:17 a.m. (Main Street), suspicious circumstance at 5:37 a.m. (North Seventh Street), abandoned vehicle at 8:53 a.m. (Pioneer Street and North 15th Street), suspicious vehicle at 4:54 p.m. (North 11th Street), fireworks complaint at 8:18 p.m. (Chapel Drive) and a dog barking at 8:36 p.m. (Grouse Place). PPD reported eight traffic stops.
THURSDAY, DEC. 28
• 4:44 p.m. — Police arrested a 36-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended after following him to a College Street location.
Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious circumstance at 4:30 p.m. (Main Street), person assist at 4:45 p.m. (North 16th Lane), motorist assist at 5:25 p.m. (North 12th Street) and motorist assist at 5:47 p.m. (North 17th Street). In addition, police assisted on calls at 4:05 p.m. (Main Street), 4:43 p.m. (North 13th Street) and 5:32 p.m. (South 29th Place). PPD reported four traffic stops.

• 8:46 a.m. — Police arrested a 39-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree domestic assault at a location on North 12th Street.

MONDAY, DEC. 4
• 8:08 p.m. — Deputies responded to a Philomath-area location for a report of an individual who had sent explicit photos through Instagram and was being threatened by the person who received them that they would be sent to family members unless paid $400.
THURSDAY, DEC. 7
• 3:37 p.m. — Deputies arrested Grant Lee Goodell, 21, of Toledo, on felony charges of luring a minor, using a child in the display of sexually explicit conduct and second-degree online sexual corruption of a child.
SUNDAY, DEC. 10
• 12:26 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 34-year-old Corvallis man on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and driving while suspended following a crash on Highway 20 near Woods Creek Road. The man was driving a Lexus SUV that crashed into a ditch and sustained heavy damage. See separate story.
FRIDAY, DEC. 15
• 11:58 a.m. — Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle parked in the driveway of an abandoned house at an Alsea Highway address near Rexford Lane. Upon arrival, deputies did not find anyone on the property and could not determine if anything was missing.
TUESDAY, DEC. 19
• 5:07 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 34-year-old Lebanon woman on several warrants and a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop on Applegate Street near Ninth Street. The woman was issued criminal citations in lieu of custody and released.
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 20
• 8:46 a.m. — Deputies responded to an Ervin Road residence for a report of suspected fraud related to a woman who had sent $2,500 to an individual who claimed to be a logger in Alaska in need of money to get to the Lower 48. The individual was asking for more money, which led to suspicion that it was a scam.
• 9:10 a.m. — Deputies witnessed a crash on Highway 20 involving a vehicle attempting to turn left onto Marys River Estates Road and was hit from behind. Both drivers were transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis with non-life-threatening injuries.
• 3:29 p.m. — Deputies responded to a crash on Highway 20 about 2 miles east of Blodgett. No injuries were reported.
FRIDAY, DEC. 22
• 2:08 a.m. — Deputies responded to a Gellatly Way residence for an assault-related report. Upon arrival, the report was determined to be unfounded and the caller was warned about the improper use of the emergency communications system.
TUESDAY, DEC. 26
• 9:44 a.m. — Deputies responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle near the intersection of Wren Road and Harris Road. The owner was contacted and given 24 hours to remove the vehicle.

FATAL CRASHES
SUNDAY, DEC. 24
• 6:37 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 82 near Umatilla that took the life of a child. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Chevy Traverse driven by a 32-year-old San Diego man was headed west on I-82 when it hit a barrier on a bridge. The Chevy crossed the highway into a dirt median where it rolled and a minor passenger was ejected. The child was declared deceased at the scene. Two other minor passengers were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver was checked by medics and remained at the scene during the investigation.
SATURDAY, DEC. 30
• 7:51 p.m. — Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 224 westbound near Southeast Freeman Way in Milwaukie that took the lives of Fleetwood Mars Mozee, 37, of Multnomah, and Mitchell Scott Barr, 24, of Milwaukie. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Dodge Caliber driven by Fallington William Frazer III, 22, of Oregon City, was headed north on Highway 224 and ran a red light, crashing into a Subaru Forester and a Toyota Prius. The collision forced the Subaru into a steel utility pole. Mozee, the driver of the Subaru, and Barr, a passenger in the Dodge, were declared deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger in the Prius were not injured. Frazer was transported to a hospital with injuries and arrested for manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and reckless endangering.
FATAL CRASH UPDATE
• Jesse Carl Ross, 43, of Corvallis, Montana, was indicted on four counts of first-degree manslaughter and was also charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and reckless endangering as a result of an Oct. 12 crash on Highway 97 near Redmond that killed a Troutdale family of four. Following the indictment, a nationwide warrant was issued for Ross’s arrest. He turned himself in Dec. 26 to Deschutes County Jail. Killed in the crash were Gary J. Rutledge, 57; Michelle Jean Windsor Rutledge, 53; Ryan Rutledge, 17; and Kate Rutledge, 15.
