Philomath High’s boys volleyball team ended the regular season on a high note with a 25-9, 25-13, 25-8 victory over Toledo, a winless program that’s just getting started in the sport this season.

The Warriors finished fifth in the Special District 3 standings with a 4-8 record to qualify for next week’s league playoffs. One match remains in the regular season before the standings are official with first-place Cascade scheduled to play Friday at Willamette Valley Christian. The result impacts only second and third place and possibly the site of a league tournament match.

Philomath is set to play Thursday at Western Christian, the fourth-place team that went 7-5 in league play. Western Christian downed Philomath in two regular-season matches, 3-0 and 3-1.
