The Philomath High School boys tennis team remained unbeaten in league play Friday with a 6-2 victory over visiting Molalla.
The Warriors swept the singles matches in convincing fashion with the top three — Dawson Beckstead, Andrew Leonard and Jackson Rice — all winning 6-0, 6-0 matches. No. 4 singles player Owen Thomas won in straight sets as well with a 6-0, 6-2 win.
Molalla’s two victories came in doubles play with the No. 1 matchup going to three sets. Caden Cox and Joshua Lam outlasted Teddy Benbow and Sawyer Ainsworth, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. Philomath won at No. 3 doubles with Jackson Holroyd and Lane Schell (6-4, 6-1) and was awarded the No. 4 doubles win by forfeit.
Philomath (9-2-1 overall, 3-0 league) is scheduled to host Stayton at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
