Philomath High’s wrestling team got back onto the mats Thursday at perennial power Sweet Home and lost by a 66-3 count.

The Warriors picked up a victory at 150 pounds when junior Porter Compton took a 5-1 decision over James Hearick. Compton moved back up to 150 for the match with junior teammate Riley Barrett sidelined with an injury.

Compton moved his record to 29-8 on the season — 16-4 in the 150-pound weight division.

Philomath gets right back into action Friday and Saturday with an appearance at the Cottage Grove Invitational, an event with wrestlers from 34 schools participating.
