Philomath High pulled off a sweep at home over West Albany Wednesday in a match that included No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles coming down to 10-point tiebreaks.

Senior Lucy King won hers 10-8 over senior Paiton Cornell, and the doubles team of seniors Maggie King and junior Lizzie Workman took theirs 10-3 over seniors Kaydence Fletcher and Molly Arnett, as the Warriors blanked the Class 5A Bulldogs, 8-0.

PHS junior Lucy Thomas was sharp at No. 2 singles, defeating sophomore Elisa Marteeny 6-2, 6-3. Junior Cecilia Milesi rolled past sophomore Avery Loveless 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3, and sophomore Ella Hammonds closed out the singles sweep at No. 4 when freshman Regina Romero retired while trailing 6-1, 5-2.

Seniors Logan Cook and Lacey Bacho handled sophomore Allison Crocker and junior Kiyomi Ludlow 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Senior Lucie Oster and junior Clara Neville were efficient in a 6-2, 6-2 win over seniors Ahryanna Cruise and Trinity Mayer at No. 3, and sophomores Bethany Cannon and Bella Nuñez were 6-0, 6-1 winners over sophomores Maia Daudert and Izzy Comer-Scherr at No. 4.

Philomath’s girls are scheduled to play at 4 p.m. Thursday at Woodburn.
