Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.
FRIDAY, MAY 1
• 12:02 p.m. — Police responded to a crash at North 19th Street and Main Street. No injuries were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of a suspicious person at 1:46 p.m. (Philomath City Park) and a report of a vicious dog at 7:47 p.m. (North 15th Street). PPD reported 15 traffic stops.
SATURDAY, MAY 2
• 7:59 p.m. — Police arrested a 55-year-old Philomath woman at 11th Street and Main Street on a warrant out of Albany Municipal Court. The woman was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody.
• 9:27 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a loud noise in the 100 block of South Eighth Street. The noise was determined to be fireworks.
• 9:47 p.m. — Police arrested a 43-year-old Philomath man in the 1800 block of College Street on three warrants out of Benton County. The man was taken to Benton County Jail.
Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 2:12 p.m. (Chapel Drive and Fern Road). PPD reported 14 traffic stops.
SUNDAY, MAY 3
• 2:02 p.m. — Police responded to a crash in the 600 block of Applegate Street. No injuries were reported.
Other calls: Police assisted other agencies on calls at 10:13 p.m. (Highway 34) and 11:12 p.m. (Highway 34). PPD reported six traffic stops.
MONDAY, MAY 4
• 8:20 a.m. — Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at the scene of a crash at Bellfountain Road and Chapel Drive.
• 3:41 p.m. — Police arrested a 45-year-old Philomath woman in the 200 block of North 13th Street on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a criminal citation and driving while suspended. The woman was cited in lieu of custody.
• 3:43 p.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting at a business in the 1700 block of Main Street. Three items valued at $75 were reported as stolen on May 1. The business has video of the suspect and the vehicle in the parking lot.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of a suicidal subject at 10:03 a.m., welfare check at 7:26 p.m. (Main Street), extra patrol at 10 p.m. (Applegate Street), extra patrol at 10:07 p.m. (Applegate Street) and extra patrol at 10:34 p.m. (South 16th Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.
TUESDAY, MAY 5
• 10:21 a.m. — Police responded to a report of possible fraud involving a bank customer who got a cashier’s check for a large amount of money and mailed it. A case was opened as a potential scam.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of a person screaming for help that turned out to be a medical issue at 7:22 a.m. (Pioneer Street), disorderly conduct at 9:52 a.m. (Main Street), dog at large at 11:27 a.m. (Applegate Street), dog found at 12:43 p.m. (North Ninth Street and Pioneer Street) and a parking complaint at 5:21 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies at 12:01 a.m. (Southeast Centerpointe Drive, Corvallis), 5:41 p.m. (Highway 34) and 7:27 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard). PPD reported one traffic stop.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 6
• 3:15 p.m. — Police arrested a 31-year-old Blodgett man on a warrant after he turned himself in at the Philomath Police Department. The man was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of a vicious dog at 12:29 p.m. (North Ninth Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.
THURSDAY, MAY 7
• 7:07 p.m. — Police responded to a report of assault in the 1200 block of North 19th Street. The responding officers were unable to make contact with the suspect and the case remained open.
Other calls: Police responses included a non-911 issue at 12:28 p.m. (South 19th Street), and execution of a search warrant at 12:40 p.m. (Northwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis). PPD reported no traffic stops.
