Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.
FRIDAY, JULY 11
• 5:01 p.m. — Police responded to a report from a woman of a possible violation of an order involving her ex-husband while in attendance at the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo.
• 8:58 p.m. — During an attempted traffic stop, the operator of a blue sports bike accelerated to lead police on a pursuit with speeds of 60-plus mph. Police terminated the pursuit due to busy traffic conditions.
• 10:08 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an intoxicated male at Skirvin Park that had climbed onto the roof of a recreational vehicle and picked up a child, initially refusing to put the child down. After releasing the child, the individual was then ignoring requests to leave. The male was last seen stumbling back toward the rodeo grounds. Police later made contact with a possible suspect reportedly with mental health issues.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of child abuse at 7:41 a.m., parking complaint at 9:38 a.m. (Applegate Street), abandoned vehicle at 11:29 a.m. (Landmark Drive), abandoned vehicle at 12:45 p.m. (South Seventh Street and Main Street), citizen contact at 3:43 p.m. (Applegate Street), cellphone found at 8:43 p.m. (South 11th Street), group of men shouting at 10:37 p.m. (Cooper Lane and South 15th Street) and a dog found at 11:24 p.m. (South 15th Street). PPD reported eight traffic stops.
SATURDAY, JULY 12
• 12:11 a.m. — Police arrested a 23-year-old Salem man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol, .08 through .14) during a traffic stop in the 900 block of Main Street.
• 12:49 a.m. — Police arrested a 43-year-old Philomath woman on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol, .08 through .14) during a traffic stop at North Ninth Street and Main Street.
• 3:55 a.m. — Police arrested a 20-year-old Prineville man on a misdemeanor charge of domestic harassment/simple assault at the Philomath rodeo grounds in Skirvin Park. The man had competed earlier in the rodeo’s bull-riding event.
Other calls: Police responses included a disabled vehicle at 1:24 p.m. (Highway 20/34), traffic hazard at 4:41 p.m. (North 14th Street and College Street), non-911 issue at 6:59 p.m. (Starker Place) and a mental hold at 7:29 p.m. In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 10:43 p.m. (North 14th Street) and 10:54 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard and Southwest Technology Loop, Corvallis). PPD reported 12 traffic stops.
SUNDAY, JULY 13
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance at 1:58 a.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 12:50 a.m. (North 10th Street and Main Street) and 11:41 a.m. (Bailey Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.
MONDAY, JULY 14
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance at 1:58 a.m. (Applegate Street), argument between neighbors at 2:47 a.m. (Pioneer Street) and suspicious circumstances at 4:26 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.
TUESDAY, JULY 15
• 9:02 p.m. — Police responded to a report from a citizen who was concerned about sheep in a field that appeared to lack water and proper shade. Nothing further was reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 1:11 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 6:27 a.m. (Highway 20), 10:11 a.m. (North 19th Street) and 5:50 p.m. (Neabeack Hill Drive). PPD reported three traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 16
• 9:01 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a juvenile sitting along a brick wall on Main Street. Police checked on the individual and found out that she lived nearby and was just watching the sunset.
• 10:47 p.m. — Police assisted Philomath Fire and Rescue at the scene of a small exterior fire in the 200 block of Jade Place.
Other calls: Police responses included a domestic disturbance involving loud music at 12:12 a.m. (Main Street), lost dog at 5:28 a.m. (Grant Street), traffic hazard at 6:15 a.m. (Southwest 53rd Street and Southwest Plymouth Drive, Corvallis), dog in a hot vehicle at 11:31 a.m. (Main Street), abandoned vehicle at 2:12 p.m. (Pioneer Street) and an extra patrol at 8:59 p.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported eight traffic stops.
THURSDAY, JULY 17
• 2:29 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an individual going onto a neighbor’s Eighth Street property and looking in windows, something that had been an ongoing issue. The suspect was warned.
• 6:01 p.m. — Police responded to a dispute between neighbors at Forest Meadows involving a woman who reportedly drives too fast through the park. The individuals were advised to separate and the woman was told that she needs to drive safely.
Other calls: Police responses included an abandoned vehicle at 9:19 a.m. (Landmark Drive), extra patrol at 7:26 p.m. (North 19th Street), foot patrol at 9:24 p.m. (Marys River Park and Natural Area), citizen contact at 11:26 p.m. (North Eighth Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.
