DAILY REPORTS
FRIDAY, AUG. 30
• 9:51 a.m. — Police approached a man sleeping on property in the 1200 block of Main Street and issued a warning for trespassing. The man left the area.
• 10:04 p.m. — Police arrested a 50-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop near College Street and North 15th Street. The man was cited in lieu of custody.
Other calls: Police responses included suspicious circumstances at 9:11 a.m. (North 13th Street), welfare check at 4:36 p.m. (South 19th Street), violation of an order at 4:38 p.m. (South 13th Street) and a check on an unsecured building at 10:14 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported 23 traffic stops.
SATURDAY, AUG. 31
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 9:02 a.m. (Willowbrook Drive) and a lost dog at 8:22 p.m. (College Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 6:52 a.m. (Bellfountain Road, Corvallis). PPD reported 28 traffic stops.
SUNDAY, SEPT. 1
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a parking complaint at 8:30 a.m. (Applegate Street) and a disabled vehicle at 10:56 a.m. (Applegate Street and South 14th Street). PPD reported 15 traffic stops.
MONDAY, SEPT. 2
• 4:43 p.m. — Police arrested a 31-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop in the 900 block of Main Street.
Other calls: Police responses included an animal complaint at 7:50 a.m. (Highway 20/34), taking in a cellphone that had been found from a citizen at 10:44 a.m. (police station) and an argument at 10:39 p.m. (southeast Philomath). PPD reported four traffic stops.
TUESDAY, SEPT. 3
• 12:55 p.m. — Police arrested Robbie Frits Alexander, 58, of Eugene, on a felony charge of first-degree forgery at Oregon State Credit Union. Alexander, who also was arrested on an outstanding warrant, allegedly attempted to cash a bad check.
Other calls: Police responses included an extra patrol at 7:36 a.m. (Chapel Drive and South 19th Street) and citizen contact at 8:24 a.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 4
• 10:55 p.m. — Police arrested a 40-year-old Corvallis man on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .20 or above) and reckless endangerment during a traffic stop on Highway 34 about 9 miles southwest of Philomath.
Other calls: Police responses included an extra patrol at 7:31 a.m. (Chapel Drive) and a criminal mischief incident at 4:43 p.m. (South 13th Street and Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 4:31 p.m. (Newton Street) and 8:02 p.m. (Alexander Road and Kings Valley Highway). PPD reported three traffic stops.
THURSDAY, SEPT. 5
• 1:20 p.m. — Police responded to a report of theft involving a man who received a tattoo but left before paying. The victim did not want to press charges and a civil agreement was worked out.
• 11:45 p.m. — Police reported an eluding incident at Landmark Drive and Main Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police responses included assisting a citizen at 11:15 a.m. (South Ninth Street), abandoned vehicle at 11:31 a.m. (South 11th Street and Main Street), citizen contact at 6:33 p.m. (Applegate Street), citizen contact at 11:23 p.m. (Highway 20 and Marys River Estates Road) and a traffic hazard at 11:27 p.m. (Highway 20 and Marys River Estates Road). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on calls at 11:49 a.m. (Highway 20 and Priest Road), 11:09 p.m. (Highway 20 and Marys River Estates Road) and 11:22 p.m. (Joseph Lane). PPD reported five traffic stops.
