FRIDAY, AUG. 21
• 9:36 p.m. — Philomath Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at the scene of a noninjury crash on Kings Valley Highway and Labare Road. A 45-year-old man was arrested by the sheriff’s office on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .08 through .14), reckless driving and failure to perform the duties of a driver.
Other calls: PPD reported five traffic stops.
SATURDAY, AUG. 22
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a family disturbance at 3:35 a.m. (South 13th Street), dog at large at 11:08 a.m. (College Street and North 12th Street) and a bar check at 11:21 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 12:29 p.m. (Timothy Street) and 12:51 p.m. (Southwest Plymouth Drive and Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported seven traffic stops.
SUNDAY, AUG. 23
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a verbal argument at 9:39 a.m. (North 19th Street), suspicious vehicle and an individual listed as missing found safe at 3:26 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard and Southwest Country Club Drive, Corvallis) and a city ordinance violation involving “dumpster divers” at an apartment complex (Main Street). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.
MONDAY, AUG. 24
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of a civil dispute at 2:41 p.m. (South 13th Street) and a domestic disturbance at 5:36 p.m. (Pioneer Street). PPD reported 19 traffic stops.
TUESDAY, AUG. 25
• 9 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run in the 100 block of South 20th Street involving a vehicle that continued driving after hitting another vehicle. No injuries were reported.
• 12:31 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a sex offense. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 4:16 a.m. (Applegate Street), two large dogs at large at 6:37 p.m. (Main Street and South 21st Street), bike found at 6:38 p.m. (Applegate Street), man sleeping near convenience store directed to designated area for overnight stay at 7:32 p.m. (South Eighth Street) and a noncriminal issue involving a welfare check on a child at 10:45 p.m. (address not given). PPD reported six traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, AUG. 26
• 3:33 p.m. — Police arrested Karen E. Kelley, 40, of Philomath, in the 200 block of South 23rd Street on felony charges of fourth-degree assault (two counts) and misdemeanor charges of harassment (two counts) and recklessly endangering another person (two counts). The woman was transported to Benton County Jail.
• 9:43 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run in the 200 block of Ninth Street involving a black pickup and a female pedestrian. The woman was evaluated by medics and released at the scene.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of two dogs at large at 9:35 a.m. (North 12th Street) and a check on a home at the request of public works because of a significant increase of water usage at 10:16 a.m. (Main Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.
THURSDAY, AUG. 27
• 1:35 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a clear plastic bag of marijuana found by a juvenile at Pioneer Park. The bag was seized and placed in the police department’s evidence room to be destroyed.
Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check of a woman at a bus stop at 9:05 a.m. (Main Street), civil dispute involving a landlord and tenants at 1:30 p.m. (North 12th Street), attempted scam involving a caller posing as a Benton County Jail official demanding money at 2:01 p.m. (South 23rd Street), parking complaint at 3:36 p.m. (Adelaide Drive), suspicious circumstance at 3:39 p.m. (Newton Street), repossessed vehicle at 8:07 p.m. (North 12th Street) and a credit card found at 9:56 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 11:02 p.m. (Main Street and North 19th Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.
