The Philomath Police Committee plans to meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Philomath City Hall for an agenda that includes discussions on North Ninth Street traffic and possible restrictions on fireworks.

The committee plans to take a look at the results of a traffic study that had been conducted on North Ninth Street. The data will be used to determine next possible steps in response to citizen concerns about speeding in an area with limited visibility, wildlife, pedestrians and bicyclists.

Also on the agenda, the committee will also discuss the possibility of placing restrictions on private fireworks in the city. The issue had been brought up at a City Council meeting in July and various perspectives were shared with ideas that included establishing designated safe locations and placing date or time restrictions on when fireworks could be set off.

For those not attending in person but interested in the proceedings, the city livestreams meetings on its YouTube channel.
