The Philomath High School Hall of Fame Committee invites the community to nominate athletes, coaches or teams for future induction consideration. The deadline to submit nominations has been set for Dec. 1.

The PHS Hall of Fame inducted its inaugural class earlier this year at a May 14 banquet. The second annual banquet is scheduled for May 13 in the high school’s auditorium.

“The PHS Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and groups who have contributed success, tradition, integrity, development and continue to promote the growth of Philomath High School’s athletic programs,” the committee wrote in a press release. “Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, professionalism, ethical conduct and moral character. All candidates will be considered based on their significant leadership, success in their chosen field and contribution to the Philomath School District.”

Although nominations are open to any individual, the committee said it will not accept applications from individuals nominating themselves, unless they are recommending a particular team.

For those interested in nominating an individual athlete, coach or team, go online to the PHS Hall of Fame website for instructions and a link to the form. Nomination forms can also be picked up at the PHS front office.

Completed forms and supporting documentation can be submitted via email to philomathhalloffame@gmail.com, dropped off at the PHS office or mailed to: PHS Athletic Hall of Fame, 2054 Applegate St., Philomath, OR 97370.

The nonprofit organization relies on fundraising to make the annual event possible and to guarantee its future success. For those interested in contributing, the website’s home page includes an area where donations can be submitted.
