The Philomath Fire and Rescue Board of Directors will hold its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 at Station 201 with an agenda that includes reviews of the district’s Strategic Plan and budget calendar.

The Strategic Plan revolves around four areas — department operations, fiscal responsibility, the fire district’s people and the community.

The proposed budget calendar shows that a budget officer and committee will be appointed Feb. 12 followed by various steps in March and April leading into May. A public hearing on the budget is scheduled for May 13.

Also at the meeting, the board plans to talk about whether or not it should utilize Philomath News to publish public notices and will continue a discussion on the district’s board member code of conduct. Plus, updates on a personnel manual and administrative directives review and the annual appreciation dinner are on the agenda.

The agenda also provides time for reports from Fire Chief Chancy Ferguson, Deputy Fire Chief Rich Saalsaa, office administrator Ashley Scott, the volunteer association’s Dan Eddy, the firefighter union’s Scott Moser and City Council liaison Christopher McMorran.

The fire station is located at 1035 Main St. The meeting can also be accessed through Zoom (see the agenda for instructions).
