The Philomath Fire and Rescue Board of Directors plan to meet at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at Station 201 with an agenda that includes discussion on utilizing conflagration income to bring a type 3 fire engine into service.
Type 3 fire engines are typically four-wheel drive apparatus that can transport at least three crew members, carry at least 500 gallons of water and have the capability of driving into rough terrain to fight wildfires. Philomath Fire and Rescue obtained the engine at no cost through the U.S. Forest Service surplus and needs to be refurbished.
The board will also continue ongoing discussions on issues such as board member code of conduct, a credit card transition plan, personnel manual and administrative directives and appreciation dinner planning.
The agenda also provides time for reports from Fire Chief Chancy Ferguson, Deputy Fire Chief Rich Saalsaa, office administrator Ashley Scott, the volunteer association’s Dan Eddy, the firefighter union’s Scott Moser and City Council liaison Christopher McMorran.
The fire station is located at 1035 Main St. The meeting can also be accessed through Zoom (see the agenda for instructions).
