The Philomath Fire and Rescue Board of Directors will consider formally accepting and spending a $12,500 grant from the Oregon Community Foundation to purchase emergency response radios when it meets at 3 p.m. Monday at Station 201.
The grant was awarded through the foundation’s “Oregon Disaster Relief” program, according to an award letter signed by OCF President and CEO Lisa Mensah. The letter carries no reporting requirement. Staff have recommended the board move to accept and use the funds toward the radio purchase.
Also on the agenda, the board is scheduled to vote on an annexation resolution that would bring an individual landowner’s property at 3300 Hawk Crest Drive into the fire district. Board members will also hold a final reading on updated job descriptions for the district’s administrative officer and operations chief positions, and an update on the district’s Chief 360 Survey.
Routine reports are also on the agenda, including updates from the fire chief, operations chief and office administrator. Representatives from the Philomath Volunteer Association, the firefighters union and the City Council’s liaison are also scheduled for reports.
