A tour of the historic Philomath College building, which houses the Benton County Historical Society’s Philomath Museum, will be available Tuesday, Aug. 12, organizers announced.
The tour, led by a trained BCHS docent, highlights the stories of students and teachers who lived and worked at the college and helped shape the Philomath community. Each tour begins at 2 p.m.
The building, constructed in 1867, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The tour includes details about the campus — at one point home to a gymnasium and tennis court — and its history with the Church of the United Brethren in Christ.
The Philomath College tour costs $10 per person, and registration is required.
