The Pastega Christmas Lights Display at the Benton County Fairgrounds has been canceled, organizers announced.

Significant damage to the display occurred in Tuesday’s windstorm. The event has been a community holiday tradition since 1981.

The popular display had been scheduled to remain in place through Dec. 31.

“Big thanks to the community for supporting this wonderful community event,” Acting Director of Benton County Natural Parks and Areas Jesse Ott said through a release. “Every year volunteers donate thousands of hours to get our fairgrounds set up with holiday lights and displays.”
