The Philomath Park Advisory Board will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at City Hall to work through an agenda that includes a review of this summer’s Music in the Park concert series and possible changes to consider, such as paying bands and possibly changing the Sunday time to later in the afternoon.
A discussion on Paul J. Cochran Veterans Memorial Park also appears on the agenda. The board will review the results of a community survey analysis, park design and a grant opportunity.
Also, Park Advisory Board member Sandy Heath proposed that the official name of Marys River Park be changed to Marys River Park and Natural Area to reflect the original intent of creating a park that features “a natural area with limited disturbances to nature and wildlife.”
Members also will be updated on the Park Master Plan process and consider a proposal on improvements at the disc golf course at Marys River Park.
The Park Advisory Board is chaired by Dale Collins and includes Heath, Rose Bricker, Carol Leach, Caleb Unema and Lindy Young.
