FRIDAY, MAY 9
• 7:22 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 82 near Wallowa that took the life of Andrew Victor Singer, 50, of Wallowa. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Singer was driving east on the highway in a Subaru Impreza and crossed the center line, hitting head-on a westbound Toyota Rav4 driven by a 38-year-old Elgin man. Singer was declared deceased at the scene. The Rav4’s driver reportedly suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
MONDAY, MAY 12
• 3:23 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 about 8 miles south of Ashland and 4 miles north of the California border that took the lives of Michael Kevin Kasser, 69, and Linda Elaine Kasser, 68, both of Issaquah, Washington. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Michael Kasser was driving north on I-5 in a Ford F-150 when he left the lane of travel and struck the trailer of a parked semi-truck. Michael and Linda Kasser were declared deceased at the scene. The truck driver, a 62-year-old man from Morena Valley, California, was reportedly not injured.
Editor’s note: A fatal crash occurred Thursday, May 15, on Highway 20 near Eddyville. As of Saturday, the Oregon State Police had not released any details.
