The Philomath Planning Commission, Philomath City Council and the Philomath Budget Review Committee all plan to meet this week. The Benton County commissioners will also hold a regular meeting.
Planning commissioners will take a look at walkability and parking in Philomath, councilors will consider a request from Millpond Crossing’s developer and the city’s budget committee will go through answers to various questions it had for city staff.
Following is a rundown of all government meetings for the week of May 19-23:
Monday, May 19
- The Philomath Planning Commission plans to meet at 6 p.m. at Philomath City Hall (980 Applegate St.). The agenda includes discussion of an Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments audit that was done to study walkability and parking in Philomath. The audit is required as part of Philomath’s approval as a Climate Friendly and Equitable Area and is to be submitted to the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development. Tuesday, May 20
- Benton County Board of Commissioners will meet at 8:55 a.m. at the Kalapuya Building (4500 SW Research Way, Corvallis). New business on the commissioners’ agenda includes a comprehensive plan request to initiate a voluntary periodic review and designating a management bargaining team for contract negotiations with the Oregon Nurses Association. - The Philomath City Council plans to hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. at Philomath City Hall (980 Applegate St.). According to the council’s May 12 meeting, they plan to discuss the possible lump-sum payment of stormwater system development charge revenue to Millpond Crossing developer Levi Miller instead of continuing to issue credits for the construction of a storm line down 15th Street to Chapel Drive. Wednesday, May 21
- The city of Philomath Budget Review Committee plans to meet at 5:30 p.m. at Philomath City Hall (980 Applegate St.). According to the meeting agenda, the committee will review questions from its May 7 meeting and responses from city staff. In all, 23 questions were posed and reports produced from the administrative, police, finance and public works staff. Click here to see the meeting agenda.
