TUESDAY, SEPT. 30

• 8:46 p.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash in the 100 block of Selma that took the life of Ray Arnold Wilder, 62, of Selma. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Wilder was struck by a vehicle, which fled the area. Wilder was declared deceased at the scene. Troopers through witness interviews determined that a red truck and a white 4Runner (or similar vehicle) with a black canopy were seen speeding away from the area after the crash. The vehicles reportedly drove past the scene several minutes later. The suspect vehicle is believed to have front-end damage and may have a broken windshield. FRIDAY, OCT. 3

• 9:30 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 6 about 7 miles west of Glenwood in Tillamook County that took the life of Deanna Kay Bollinger, 57, of Garibaldi. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Mazda 3 driven by a 27-year-old woman from Vancouver, Washington was headed west on HIghway 6 when for unknown reasons, she entered the eastbound passing lane and struck head-on a Scion Xd driven by Bollinger. Bollinger was declared deceased at the scene. The Mazda’s driver was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

SATURDAY, OCT. 4

• 10:44 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 42 about 6 miles from Myrtle Point that took the life of Heather Renee Leach, 37, of Reedsport. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated Leach was headed east on Highway 42 in a Chevrolet 1500 when she lost control of the vehicle and spun into the westbound lane, striking head-on a Ford F-350 driven by a 56-year-old Grants Pass man. Leach was declared deceased at the scene. The Ford’s driver and a passenger, a 53-year-old Grants Pass woman, were injured and transported to a hospital.

SUNDAY, OCT. 5

• 12:59 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 42 about 2 miles from Myrle Point that took the life of Autumn Ruby Bishop, 25, of Medford. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 23-year-old Myrtle Point man was driving west on Highway 42 when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Honda Civic driven by a 26-year-old Medford man. Bishop, a passenger in the Honda, was declared deceased at the scene. The Honda’s driver was transported via Life Flight to a hospital with serious injuries. The Ford’s driver was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. OSP believes fatigue may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

• 4:39 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 197 near Maupin that took the life of Howard Mcloud Mansfield, 60, of Maupin. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Mansfield was driving north on Highway 197 in a Isuzu Rodeo when for unknown reasons, his vehicle left the lane of travel, crossed into the southbound lane, struck a hillside and rolled over. Mansfield, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

MONDAY, OCT. 6

• 5:27 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 38 near Drain that took the life of Kenneth Shane Garrison, 52, of North Bend. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Garrison was heading east on Highway 38 when the Buick Century he was driving for unknown reasons left the roadway, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. Garrison was declared deceased at the scene.
