SUNDAY, SEPT. 28

• 2:27 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 212 near the intersection with Southeast Wally Road in Boring that took the lives of Austin Gaberiel Roberts, 21, of Kelso, Washington, and Taylor Renee Wonderly, 19, of Portland. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Roberts was driving east on the highway in a Dodge Caliber and for unknown reasons left the roadway and struck a brick building where various businesses are located. The vehicle briefly caught fire before it was extinguished by the Clackamas County Fire Department. Roberts and Wonderly, a passenger, were declared deceased at the scene. Two employees of CandyLashCo suffered serious injuries and were transported to an area hospital. Law enforcement officials determined speed to be a primary cause of the crash but the investigation was continuing.

• 6:48 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 about 2 miles north of Woodburn that took the life of Antonio Del-Valle Pegueros, 49, of Albany. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Pegueros was driving south on I-5, left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled several times on the shoulder of the interstate. Pegueros was declared deceased at the scene.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 30

• 6:05 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 212 near the intersection with Southeast Richey Road in Boring that took the life of Anthony Cyrill Koenig, 77, of Lake Oswego. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Koenig was driving east on the highway in a Ford F-150 and for unknown reasons crashed into the front of the Timber Bar and Grill. The collision caused significant damage to the building. Koenig was declared deceased at the scene. An employee at Timber Bar and Grill was reportedly not injured.

• 11 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 22 near Idanha that took the life of Richard Wayne Braxling, 85, of Redmond. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Braxling was driving west on Highway 22 when he left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled over. Braxling was declared deceased at the scene.
