The Philomath Museum will host a Braver Angels debate at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 to offer community members a chance to engage in civil discourse on a pressing issue.
The evening’s resolution — “Camping on public property should be illegal” — addresses the ongoing conversation about homelessness, public space usage and community safety. Unlike traditional debates, the event prioritizes understanding over victory, encouraging participants to listen to diverse perspectives and share their own thoughts in a respectful environment.
Braver Angels, a nonpartisan citizens’ organization dedicated to bridging America’s political divide, facilitates the structured conversations to help “red and blue Americans” find common ground.
The free event welcomes RSVPs and attendees can register using promo code BRAVER. While tickets are complimentary, donations support Braver Angels’ continued work fostering constructive dialogue across partisan lines.
