SATURDAY, JUNE 7
• 3:31 p.m. — Troopers responded to a four-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Lincoln City that took the life of Paula Babcock, 69, of Donald. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Babcock was driving north on Highway 101 in a Chevrolet Spark when the vehicle crossed the centerline and sideswiped a southbound Tesla S, driven by a 57-year-old Salem man. The Chevrolet then collided with a southbound GMC Yukon, driven by a 62-year-old Lincoln City woman. The Tesla, after it had been struck, entered the northbound lane and collided with a Kia Sorento, driven by a 65-year-old Lincoln City woman. Babcock was declared deceased at the scene. The Tesla’s driver and a passenger, a 41-year-old Salem woman, reported minor injuries. The GMC’s driver reported minor injuries. The Kia’s driver and a passenger, a 76-year-old Lincoln City man, were transported to an area hospital reportedly with minor injuries.
SUNDAY, JUNE 8
• 6:09 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Seal Rock that took the life of Leslie Ryan Campbell, 45, of Seal Rock. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Campbell was driving south on Highway 101 in a Toyota Matrix and for unknown reasons struck guide wires on the south side of an embankment and ultimately struck a tree. Campbell was pronounced deceased at the scene.
MONDAY, JUNE 9
• 10:00 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 126 near Redmond that claimed the life of Carrie Jane Wilson, 45, of Prineville. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Wilson was driving west in a Kia Sol when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the centerline and hit head-on an eastbound Ford F250 driven by a 67-year-old Redmond man. Wilson was declared deceased at the scene. The F250’s driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, reportedly suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
