FRIDAY, JULY 31
• 9:41 p.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-motorcycle crash on Highway 226 east of Scio that took the life of Tanner Kolten Henderson, 29, of Gates. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Ford F-350 pickup, operated by a 77-year-old Lebanon man, slowed to turn south onto Richardson Gap Road and turned into the path of Henderson’s eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the front of the pickup and landed in a ditch off the roadway. Henderson was pronounced deceased at the scene. The pickup’s driver was not injured.
SATURDAY, AUG. 1
• 4:42 a.m. — Troopers responded to a fatal vehicle-elk crash on Highway 234 near Eagle Point in Jackson County that took the life of Hilver Randolfo Perez Interiano, 51, of Grants Pass. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated Perez Interiano’s eastbound Kia Spectra struck a large cow elk in the roadway, then continued eastbound until it left the roadway and struck a tree on the westbound shoulder. Perez Interiano was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 42-year-old Grants Pass woman, a passenger in the Kia, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
• 8:59 p.m. — Troopers responded to a fatal vehicle-motorcycle crash on Highway 30 near Astoria that took the life of Samuel Stephen Clutter, 55, of Portland. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated Clutter’s eastbound Triumph Daytona motorcycle crossed into the westbound lane while attempting to pass in a no-passing zone, colliding head-on with a yellow Ford Transit van, operated by a 42-year-old Warrenton man. Clutter was pronounced deceased at the scene. The van’s driver reported minor injuries.
