The Philomath Farmers’ Market scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 10 has been canceled due to excessive heat, organizers announced.

The market, now in its sixth year, takes place on Sundays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the parking lot area in front of Philomath Community Library and the Philomath Police Station on Applegate Street. But faced with an extreme heat warning with temperatures that could reach the triple digits in Philomath, this weekend’s market was called off.

The latest forecast for Philomath shows that highs on Sunday could reach 100 degrees.

The farmers’ market will resume on Sunday, Aug. 17 and continue for nine weeks after that weekend until Oct. 19.
