Leonard Angelo Rosi was born November 7, 1946 to Irene and Angelo Rosi. He grew up in Alameda with his two older siblings, Leo and Leonora, attended University of California Berkeley for his undergraduate degree and completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Oregon. He chose to live in Oregon for its wild spirit and abundant green nature and was glad to live the majority of his life on Evergreen hill in Philomath.
Leonard valued providing financially for his family and spent most of his working career at Hewlett Packard working as a Failure Analysis Engineer, where he enjoyed the puzzles in his work and enjoyed mocking the bureaucracy inherent in working for a large company. He was a very involved soccer coach for all three of his kids and continued to coach after his kids were grown. Leonard was an ardent soccer fan, as well as a collector and creator of many art forms including poetry and the visual arts. Leonard saw himself as a bit of a misfit and enjoyed finding his own path and own interests. He lived his life as a continual learner and encouraged and enjoyed discussion and challenging others.
Leonard is survived by his three children and their spouses, Sep & Virginia, Brenden & Hannah and Alia & Aaron and three grandchildren, Jory, Georgie and Mateo, his brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Lynne and his sister Leonora.
