Larry (Clarence Roy) Daubenspeck, 83, died Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Providence Hospital in Medford, after suffering a major cardiac event.

Larry was a native Oregonian; born in Corvallis to Harold and Marjory Daubenspeck of Philomath. Larry loved to fish and was a river guide on the Rogue River in the early ’70s while transitioning from working in the lumber mills to driving trucks.

Larry fished a great number of fisheries all over Oregon during his lifespan but spent a great deal of time on the Rogue River. Taking people on guided trips down the lower Rogue was a great source of pleasure for him. Larry had a long career as a truck driver pulling triple trailers for a major trucking company until he retired. Larry lived his life as a Master Mason and had recently received his 50-year pin from the Grants Pass Masonic Lodge.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at the Grants Pass Masonic Temple on Oct. 7, 2023, at 1 p.m.; the celebration is open to the public. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Larry’s name to the Masonic Lodge (320 NW E St., Grants Pass, OR 97526) or your local Shriners Hospital.
