VOLUME 7, NUMBER 240
Thursday, October 29, 2026

Good morning, Philomath.

A 12-foot rowboat that the late Fred Anderson built by hand in his Corvallis garage raised $3,000 for Mount Union Cemetery, money the volunteer association will use for maintenance and headstones for unmarked graves. The Philomath School Board filled three budget committee seats Oct. 20, reappointing Shelly Brown and Kim Lopez and adding retired CPA Lisa Miller. Free StrongPeople strength classes for adults start Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, meeting from 11 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Ballots are due by 8 p.m. Tuesday, and the Oregon Capital Chronicle goes behind the scenes in Linn County to show what happens to a ballot once it hits the dropbox. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
