Good morning, Philomath.
Believe it or not, the high school football season arrives Friday and we have a season preview on this year’s Warriors. The general election ballot is set with five Philomath City Council candidates, an unopposed sheriff and a final-hour challenger for county commissioner. The BCSO Log lists recent incidents, including DUII arrests on Marys Peak Road and Kings Valley Highway. Our state representative, David Gomberg, will chair a new task force to examine ways to grow the state’s coastal economy. On the subject of Oregon’s economy, there is evidence that we’re catching up with the rest of the nation. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
