VOLUME 6, NUMBER 158
Wednesday, August 6, 2025
Good morning, Philomath.
One of the things I love about living and working in a close-knit town like Philomath is how a neighbor will step in to help. Last night, I was at National Night Out with my two sons, ages 7 and 5. There was a lot of fun awaiting around them but I needed to do some interviews and shoot photos for a story on the event. Jill Williams, who heads up Roots Christian School here in town, took them around while I focused on what I needed to get done. Both boys know Mrs. Williams from their years in preschool with Roots. She helped make their evening at the event a whole lot more fun and I knew they were safe and happy.
Other stories presented in today’s newsletter includes a Warrior Watch column that leads off with cross-country. A man who died at age 27 is the latest subject of Mount Union Stories. And for the commercial mushroom hunters out there, I threw up a brief about permits. Today’s partner content includes a piece by Alex Baumhardt on a legislator who wants to improve Oregon’s disaster preparedness following the recent tsunami warning on the coast.— Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
