Registration is now open for two Philomath after-school childcare programs that offer safe and engaging environments for children from kindergarten through eighth grade.
The STARS (Super Time for Art, Recreation and Sports) program provides enriched childcare for kindergarten through fourth-grade students at Clemens Primary School. Operating Monday through Friday from after school until 6 p.m., STARS includes daily snacks and planned activities. The program opens early on Fridays to accommodate school schedules.

For older students, the Clemens Clubhouse serves fourth through eighth graders with recreational activities in a spacious facility featuring a game room, basketball court, lounge with big-screen TV, and arts and crafts area. The clubhouse offers weekly tournaments and group activities led by high school volunteers and staff. A computer room is reserved exclusively for homework until 4:30 p.m. on school days, and all members receive a free daily snack.
While most fourth-grade students attend the Clubhouse, STARS remains an option for families who feel their child may not be ready for the older group setting.
Pricing for the programs:
- STARS full time (Monday-Friday until 6 p.m.): $350 per month.
- STARS early pick up (Monday-Friday until 4:30 p.m.): $300 per month.
- STARS drop-in: $30 per day
- Clemens Clubhouse: $45 per month per child
Limited scholarships are available for STARS participants.
On select non-school and in-service days, a separate STARS childcare program operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for $50 per day, though advance registration is required and minimum enrollment must be met.
Both programs do not operate when schools are closed due to inclement weather. The Clemens Clubhouse is closed on all non-school days.
