The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory to begin at 10 p.m. Monday and continue until 10 a.m. Tuesday for a region of Oregon that includes Philomath.

According to the NWS, snow accumulations of a dusting to 1 inch is expected with most areas seeing less than a half-inch. Isolated, heavier snow showers are expected to produce snow accumulations of 1 inch or more at elevations above 500 feet.

Philomath’s elevation averages about 282 feet.

Slippery road conditions could affect Tuesday morning commutes and the NWS advises motorists to slow down and use caution while traveling.

The Weather Channel’s forecast for Philomath shows rain on Monday afternoon before a break in precipitation at around 6 p.m. Rain and snow showers are expected to then begin at around 10 p.m. and continue overnight until around 7 a.m.
