Exposure Causes Death — Herman Kreins, a bachelor who lived alone at his ranch in the Beaver Creek community, south of Philomath, died in Corvallis last night, a victim of exposure. Mr. Kreins left his home after dark a few nights ago, on an errand near his ranch, and in the darkness failed to find his way back. He was out all night and exposure to the cold and complications developing later caused his death. Mr. Kriens, who was probably 74 years of age, had never married. He was a son of the late Krein Kreins, Benton county pioneer, who died here about four years ago after passing his 101st milestone. A brother, John Kriens, who resides at Monroe, will come to Corvallis to make plans for the funeral. Another brother, Krien Kriens, lives at Hoquiam, Wash., and Mrs. Jennie Dodge and Michael Kriens, of the vicinity of Los Angeles, are sister and brother. A third brother, Henry, cannot be located.
