The Mount Union Cemetery Association board has organized maintenance work parties to occur on the second Saturday each month, the organization announced.
The first one will take place from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 8 at the historic cemetery, which is located on Mount Union Avenue about one-fourth of a mile north of the Bellfountain Road-Plymouth Road intersection.
Volunteers are needed to help with various tasks, such as mowing, weeding, trimming shrubs and hedges, storm cleanup, cleaning headstones and moving soil to an area around the new entrance archway.
Organizers said volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and tools. Coffee, tea and pastries will be available.
