Maxtivity Arts & Crafts Creative Space, a Philomath-based nonprofit organization, announced its participation in World Art Day on Saturday, April 15 with a local live-stream telethon to run from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
“The event will feature a new artist or creator appearing at the top of each hour to demonstrate their craft,” organizers announced through a press release. “We’ll have board members, volunteers, donors, corporate sponsors, and staff who will come together to support our mission of empowering individuals through art.”
As part of the live-stream telethon, Maxtivity is seeking donors for the organization’s matching donor fund. Organizers said donations can start at $100 and go up to $300.
“Our goal is to raise $4,500 in donations, $900 in corporate matching donor sponsorships and 100 volunteer hours, which are equivalent to $2,995 at the Oregon state volunteer rate,” organizers said. “To achieve our goal, we will be going peer-to-peer fundraising with teams setting a goal. Our event is open to everyone and promises to be a fun-filled day with prizes, gifts for participants that visit from 1-3 p.m. and shenanigans.”
The telethon will be live-streamed on Youtube (@imaxtivity), Tiktok (@imaxtivity), Instagram (@imaxtivity) and Facebook (facebook.com/maxtivitycreativespace). Donations can be accepted online at www.givebutter.com/worldartday2023, by check by mail (1604 Main St., Philomath, OR 97330) or by cash at the studio.
