The Philomath Park Advisory Board plans to discuss a possible expansion of Marys River Park and go over details related to this summer’s Music in the Park concert series during its monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10.

The group will meet through videoconferencing at 5 p.m.

According to the meeting agenda and packet, the idea of expanding Marys River Park originated during a City Council conversation about the impact of a to-be-constructed water reservoir that will take up approximately four-tenths of an acre on Ninth Street across from the location of the water treatment plant.

The board’s Music in the Park discussion includes updates on sponsorships, donation collection and the selection of bands.

The board will meet virtually through Zoom. To make arrangements to provide comments, contact Chelsea Starner, assistant to the city manager, at 541-929-6148 or chelsea.starner@philomathoregon.gov (sign up to speak by 4 p.m. Thursday; submit comments via email or at City Hall by noon Thursday).

The city provides live-streaming of meetings on its Facebook page.
