Marys River Grange No. 685 will host a “Summer Night Rodeo Round-Up” fundraising dance event on Friday, Sept. 26 from 7-11 p.m. in the Yew Wood Corral at the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo Grounds.
The evening will feature country dancing, competitions and four dance lessons with proceeds going toward refinishing the floors of the historic Marys River Grange Hall.
The event will include Line Dance and All-American Swing competitions, with preliminary rounds, “American Kids,” and finals, “Raised Like That.”
The fundraiser was organized in partnership with the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo and Jamie Lee Dancing.
“She’s fantastic,” organizer Yvonne McMillan said about Lee. “She’s going to have four instructors, four dances taught and a competition with prizes. So it’ll be a really fun night.”
Organizers stressed that no alcohol is allowed at the event.
The Frolic and Rodeo board contributed to the event by making the rodeo grounds available at no cost, McMillan said.
Entry to the event is $15 with an additional $10 fee per competition for those wishing to participate in the dance contests.
