Philomath residents will have an opportunity to talk with a City Council member, School Board director and Benton County commissioner during a “Local Government Coffee” that’s been set up for 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Timber Towne Coffee.

“We find that folks often have very good feedback and questions, but aren’t sure where to go with it,” said City Councilor Christopher McMorran, who is helping to organize the event. “Some folks come to the city with a school district issue or come to the school district with a county issue and so on. We wanted to give an opportunity for residents to speak to us all around the same table and have some really good discussions about what’s going on in our community.”

McMorran describes the event as a casual conversation about local issues.

On a side note, while the October event will include officials from various jurisdictions, McMorran said the City Council plans to resume its usual Councilor Coffee schedule on the third Saturday of each month starting in November.
