For the first time since Philomath News launched in November 2020, I am on a real vacation over the next seven days. That means no writing, no website updates, no email responses, no new advertising, no helping folks update credit cards and so on.

In the past, I’ve always taken my laptop with me on vacations and I would typically spend one to three hours each of those days working. This time, I won’t be taking my laptop — a mental break and quality time with my family is needed.

There will be newsletters sent to subscribers on Friday, Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday featuring a selection of some of my favorite stories from 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Through my content management system, I’m able to set up ahead of time when the newsletters are to be sent.

If you want to subscribe to the newsletter (it’s free), click here and fill out the form. Or, you can scroll down to read the latest newsletters (and those from the past).

If a big news story breaks while I’m out of the office, I apologize for not being on the job to report on it — and you watch, something will happen. The best that I can do is to try to get caught up on anything I missed when I return to my desk and get back into the flow on the morning of Aug. 21.

Thank you for understanding.
