The Philomath City Council added a sixth citizen to the Inclusivity Committee during its meeting Monday night with the appointment of local resident Jenn Amador.
Amador joins five other citizens that are officially part of the group (there are others who participate in meetings that are not formal members). City councilors Jessica Andrade, Diane Crocker and Christopher McMorran are also at the table although that could change next month when committee assignments are announced.
A primary focus for the Inclusivity Committee is “to foster support and growth for DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) initiatives and programs in Philomath.”
Councilor Ruth Causey expressed her support for Amador for “her interest in expanding the representation of people of color on the Inclusivity Committee.”
The appointment passed on a 4-0 vote (Andrade, Teresa Nielson absent with one seat vacant).
Amador fills a seat with a term that is scheduled to expire at the end of 2025.
