The Philomath High School girls tennis team won seven of eight matches Tuesday in a victory over North Marion, 7-1.
Playing on the home courts, the Warriors swept the doubles matches. The No. 1 team of Phoebe Dodson and Daniella Carlisle easily won, 6-1, 6-1. Nadia Durski and Lorelei Schell at No. 2 posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory. The No. 3 team of Mia Cook and Stella Neville won decisively, 6-2, 6-0.
The only match of the day that went the full three sets occurred at No. 4 doubles. Philomath’s Lucie Oster and Logan Cook appeared to get stronger as the afternoon progressed in a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win.
In singles action, Bailey Bell in the No. 1 spot and Adele Beckstead in the No. 2 spot both won by scores of 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4 singles, Elise Reese defeated her opponent, 6-1, 6-3.
Philomath is scheduled to play at home again on Thursday when Cascade pays a visit. The action begins at 4 p.m.
